DeVARY'S GIRL!

Artist David DeVary: "All American"
One of the ingenious aspects of artist David DeVary's subject, the mythical girl, is that her identity is left up to our imaginations. She has no name. But each painting owner like myself has the private luxury of indulging themselves as to who she is, what kind of person she is, what her redeeming qualities are and specific to each of us--answering for ourselves why is she engaging? I like his work a lot and it leaves plenty of room for what philosophers call "the art of wondering.

Michael, You've hit the mark more than once! I like that painting. Having her eyes covered in the shade of the hat does allow for more interpretation.

Sage: Thank you for such a huge compliment! I remember writing letters to the late Stanley Marcus (co-founder of Neiman-Marcus). Stanley always wrote back to anyone who contacted him about a subject he covered in a newspaper column he wrote. I still have a letter he wrote back to me stating, "It's always nice to read that you concur with me. However, it would be nice if you once disagreed"! I wrote back immediately and promised him I would when and if I felt that way. All in Good Fun! Mr. Marcus was a Class Act...just like you, Sage! Enjoy your weekend!! :D

P.S.: There is a DeVary I have with just the face of the girl with the hat dipped and it is quite nice, very sensual (with a nod and a wink)!

P M: Thanks! As more time passes and a healing continues I am more and more convinced that I was placed back on the "right" set of train tracks where there is no collision ahead, only a happier future.
