JOIN ME FOR "STEVE McQUEEN: THE LAST MILE"!
Essential to this full website, this is a "Special Event" not usually associated with a BLOG. As such, travel information is listed below.
-
Those of you who have been with me here on my Website for any length of time will remember the BLOGS and Photos that I shared with you of my weekend last December 6 & 7 with several dear friends of mine, including Barbara McQueen in Santa Paula, California. Because so many of you are fans of Steve McQueen (and friends of mine) who were unable to attend that event, I have a wonderful invitation for you! Come join me for an evening of unforgettable fun and adventure.
-
WHAT: An Opening Reception to Meet The Artist: Barbara McQueen, author of "Steve McQueen: The Last Mile"- an exhibition of photographs taken by Steve's widow, Barbara.
-
WHEN: March 6 from 7 to 9 P.M.
-
WHERE: At The Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler, Arizona.
-
HIGHLIGHTS: McQueen will be present along with special guest, Jeb Rosebrook, who wrote the screenplay for "Junior Bonner", which was a 1972 McQueen movie filmed in Prescott, Arizona.
-
“It’s the last stop for The Last Mile” said Barbara McQueen, the actor’s widow. “The last two years have been a constant whirlwind of activity and I’m ready to return to a quieter lifestyle.” Since May 2007, McQueen has traveled with the exhibit to London, San Francisco, Carmel-By-The Sea, Ketchum, Idaho, Slater, Missouri, and Nashville, Tennessee. Many of you will recall her appearance on Late Night with David Letterman.
-
MORE INFORMATION: Admission is free to this intimate portrayal of McQueen’s life. Gallery hours are 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. Mondays through Fridays and 12 Noon to 4 P.M. on Saturdays. For more information, call (480) 917-6859 or visit www.chandlercenter.org. This is important for those of you who plan on flying into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. I sincerely hope to meet you in-person at this wonderful event!
Love & Friendship,
Michael

talk about six degrees of separation: march 6th is my birthday!
Seraphine: And mine is April 5th. That means I'm in Cool Company! ;D Fly on down and meet Barbara McQueen! She's a great lady and a wonderful photographer. Southwest has cheap flights and you can even wear the Converse! See ya there!! (This should start an avalance of Bloggers showing up).
What a fab event, I wish I could be there.
I'd come if it was closer! Have a wonderful time.
Ellee: I'm sure Sir Richard Branson could be swayed! :D)
Suzanne: It's hard for many. But at least Phoenix is a bit more accessible and I expect to be plesantly surprised to meet Blog-Buds there. This will be Barbara's final event. We will miss you! lol! :)
Alas, it's a little too far for me to travel. Too bad, I know it's bound to be so interesting, and I'd love to meet you and some other bloggers, Michael.
Hope you have a great Sunday! :o)
Love and hugs,
Diane
Diane: lol! There will be some who cannot attend, and some who will. You never know when I might show up at your place for "Sunday Dinner"! :D)
I hope she has great success with her book.
I know that Steve's son Chad is an actor..do you know what movies he has been in??
Green Tea: I missed Chad in California by mere minutes. He did stop by. You can view his work on IMDB. He's an extraordinary guy!
Looks like a really wonderful event. It's not in the cards for me right now, wish I could go.
P M: I wish you could make it too, my friend. But you will be with us in spirit! :)
It sounds like a wonderful evening, Michael, unfortunately there is no way I can make it out west then. Have fun.
Sage: No worries dear friend. I am expecting traffic mostly from California into Phoenix. It will be a packed house.
Sending you love Michael!
Have a great week!
Jess: And also to you and Jason! :)
ah yes!
april 5th... you just missed being an april fool.
An Aries born on April 5 is a natural aristocrat, has a high opinion of themselves and may even be self-centered. However, that attitude in no way influences their ability to interact with others or to be likeable. They possess a sense of destiny and may often find themselves involved in unusual circumstances. Their best trait is unabashed honesty.
i grabbed that off the internet. does that sound like you?
Searphine: Well, hmmm...not the part about having a high opinion of myself (I don't) or being self-centered. The Apostle Paul says to us, "Don't let the world put you into a box". I'm sure many Astrology folks are nice people, but I'd best describe myself as a sensitive, spiritual man who counters that with strength and honesty with boldness of spirit. That's why I love being around horses. lol!
