A WEEKEND EVENT IN CALIFORNIA!
The Lovely Barbara McQueen Once in a great while, a magical event comes along that allows us to celebrate and enjoy life. Today is such an occasion. The Aviation Museum of Santa Paula is welcoming home Barbara McQueen with a VIP reception, dinner and book signing at the Santa Paula Airport. This is Barbara's first trip back to Santa Paula since the 1980 death of her husband, Steve McQueen. The McQueen's actually lived at the airport inside Steve's hangar while their home was being remodeled. The evening's festivities will begin at 5 PM.

On Sunday, December 7th, The Santa Paula Airport will salute the life of Steve McQueen on its "First Sunday Open House". Private hangars will be open to display vintage aircraft, cars, and memorabilia from 10 AM to 3 PM. Barbara McQueen will also sign her book Steve McQueen: The Last Mile at the five-hour extravaganza. With great pleasure, I featured this book last year on my Blog site.

Have a great weekend and enjoy visiting with folks... Does Barbara McQueen own the ranch outside of Ketchum, ID? I think I may have told you this before, but if that's her, I met her in passing back in the late 80s--I was running a camp nearby and was in having dinner and beer at a pub in town. After she left, I was told she had been McQueen's wife.
Its the place to be, but alas I'm here in the snow. After all its hockey season.

Hey, I sound like a weatherman, don't I? :) "Some cloud cover out the west with winds at five miles per hour...chance of rain 20 percent! (NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU, BUDDY!) :)
