VIDEO OF "STEVE MCQUEEN: THE LAST MILE"!
Many of you have expressed to me with an avalanche of e-mails (87) that you wished so badly that you could have met up with me, or otherwise attended last weekend's event at the Santa Paula Airport in California. I would have loved that! And I am literally bowled-over by your kind notes. Because my beloved laptop computer hard drive crashed, I am awaiting a recovery disc in the mail. So my current access to both the Blog and e-mailing is quite limited and this has caused me to be late in responding to my e-mails. Nevertheless, I have great news! The film you are about to see above was featured after our dinner under a tent just outside the doors of the new general aviation museum at the airport.

If you are in the process of picking up this wonderful hardbound coffee table book, I would urge you to do so. "Steve McQueen: The Last Mile" is a genuine keepsake featuring never before-seen photos of actor Steve McQueen as photographed by his wife Barbara. It is a wonderful memoir. By posting this film clip, I hope that you can gain a sense of what the weekend was like for me. It was a Gift of God--and so are you. Enjoy it! And thanks for hanging in with me while the Laptop is "in the garage"! I appreciate your friendship and loyalty.
Love to All,
Michael

Great video now I need to get a TV so I can watch Steve Mcqueen movies.
Sorry about your hard drive. reminds me I need to do backups! ;-)
Ole Blue: Do it now, because it runs an extra $150 for the Warranty shop to do it. Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you had a chance to see the film clip. It is very touching!!:)
Hmmm. I read an enrty you put in this morning and now it's gone. I won't comment on the name of it because it may be a future entry. Just for the record, I DID love that movie. I hadn't seen it in years and immediately recognized the car!
Cosmic: We are doing a Countdown of 10 basic movie clips I liked the best of all the films starting next Wednesday. I KNEW you were a "Bullitt" fan! :D)YOU ROCK, COSMIC!
Been catching up this post and the one below- Wow, to be a sock in your suitcase sometimes, Michael, lol! What great adventures you have :)
Just finished catching up on your posts about your trip. It sounds like you had an amazing journey. And you look terrific in all those shots! A well deserved trip, my friend! Glad you were able to experience it!
LAST GIRL ON EARTH - Deni
Nothing keeps you down, not even a computer crash. It's still the pits though. I hope all of your records are recoverable (or already backed up.)
I see that photo of you below and I'm smiling! What a fun time you three are having. :D
Carolyn: lol! First time anyone told me that. I'm smiling! :D)
Deni: Thanks! Lost 37 pounds since we had dinner in Florida and feeling so much better. The guys and I keep e-mailing each other and asking "Can you believe we experienced this?" We are still on "Cloud 9". lol! :)
GEL: It was so fun and so positive. Barbie was as down to earth and sweet with us as she was when I caught her last year on "Late Night with David Letterman". She's the real deal and we guys enjoyed her humor immensely!!!
Oh snap!
Terrific post.I would just love to get to hang with you for a day or two and pick your brain. ;-}
huggggs!!!
Oh yess! That film clip is touchimg,M.
Thanks for posting that.
Hope your hard drive is recovered OK. That would be a great book to have and what an experience. You always have such exciting news for us to read!
Tammi: ...(((HUGS)))...and very sweet of you! :)
Tammi: I loved it too...very touching, yes, you bet!
PBS: lol! The computer is still broke and I'm sidelined until the recovery disc arrives...probably by this weekend. I tracked it and it is in Illinois heading my way. I have to credit my exciting friends...they are wonderful...and so are you! :)
If everyone who wanted to actually met you Michael, you WOULD be overwhelmed!!! I'd be front and center! :)
Patti: What a lovely compliment to me! Thanks and mucho (((HUGS)))! :D)
I've read a lot about Steve McQueen. Quite an interesting man!
I'm gonna check out the book, thanks!
Lisa B: It's a "keeper"! Steve was quite fascinating as you know from the biz! lol!!!!!!:D)
Hey hun,
Just poppin' back in to see if your laptop that ran a wheel off,is still in the garage.Santa either needs to come see me,or come fix my slow computer.I pay for high speed, but have loaded my system down w/ so much junk,it's like having slow-speed sometimes.
A beautiful video tribute of sorts. With celebrities it's quite often that we don't ever come to know their own family's feelings towards them.
Tammi: lol! The repairs have started. But no cigar yet! :D
Martini: The one thing I can tell you is that we were in the company of a truly sweet and down to earth gal in Barbie. That is what made the trip so meaningful, because we are all regular guys. So, it was a great weekend filled with a rare depth of warmth and love among each of us. :D)
Enjoyed your last two posts and learning more about McQueen and those around him.
Sage: Steve was incredible and what impressed me MOST about him was the choices he made at the end of his life to "straighten up and fly right". He owned up to that completely, and as I stated, that is what we men admired most about him. He got real and when he did, he created a richer, fuller life for himself and those wround him. He is missed, all these years later. But we have that marvelous talent on film to enjoy. I just watched "The Hunter" last night and smiled! Take care, my friend!!!
