"FRIDAY MOVIE SUGGESTION NIGHT" FAREWELL!

After thinking it over, I have decided that the very best way to bring an end to my feature "Friday Movie Suggestion Night" is to keep it simple with a video that struck me as an incredibly sweet way to go out. This is Eva Cassidy's special rendition of "Over the Rainbow"--- for reasons that should be obvious to all of us.

Thank you for 40 great months! I'll see you again after my laptop repairs are finished and I'm back on line.

D-Man: The Laptop went into the warranty shop and it needs a second hard drive. It's frustrating, but I'll get back ASAP! :)

Seraphine: Nice to see you here. Due to the flu bug, I've had to cancel my last 3 sessions out of concern for passing the bug to others. I really miss PT and the camaraderie with so many buds there. But I'm fighting back with mega-doses of meds and Vitamin C. Eva was the subject of a past BLOG about how I discovered her before I left Texas. :) We're still pressing ahead with changes to my full website, though.lol!

P M: Please accept my sympathy over the passing of Penni. I received the notice only today and I was very saddened to see such a warm, giving and loving lady taken from us. She made quite an impression on me and I wish that everyone could be as vulnerable and open to loving others as Penni was. That was the lesson I received from her. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

i just know i'm getting sick. i'm going to costa rica in 12 days. i know several people who are sick. i keep washing my hands; if it wasn't so weird looking, i'd open door knobs with my shirt sleeves. by all means, stay home and don't give me your flu.

Green Tea: Funny you should mention that. I've asked Hugh Hefner to handle my travel arrangements to Mexico with Kimberly (his ex). But for some reason, he won't respond? I'm sure he's just a bit tied up and will get back to me when his (Ahem!) schedule clears.

...lol and Merry Christmas, Green Tea! :D)

Carolyn: It is frustrating, I must admit. I thought I bought a Ferrari...but it turned out to be a VW Beetle. Then it crapped out on me. I promise to come back as soon as I have wings. MWAH! :)

Seraphine: I hope you have a blast in Costa Rica. My late buddy Andre' visited there with his wife before he passed away in 1997 and he said that if he had the time left in his life, he would have taken over a bankrupt hotel on a marina and lived "like a King on $1,000 a month!" And knowing Andre' he would have too! Watch the guys with germs, my friend! I'm a hermit until this passes...:)

Absolutely haunting, Michael.

Jean-Luc: I hope to rekindle my contact with Eva's parents. We swapped some e-mails when I was still in broadcasting in Texas and they were very kind and generous. The first song I ever heard from Eva was "Who Knows Where The Time Goes?" I always associated that song with Judy Collins and while in the reading pit of a bookstore at night, this incredible voice waffled over to me from the music department. I walked over to ask my "20 Questions" about who Eva was and I've been a fan ever since. As you may know, she first caught on in England and shortly thereafter, worldwide in 2002, just 6 years after her death. Strikes me as such a sweet soul.

She has a great voice

Walker: And so soulful! By all accounts, she was a very gifted, albeit, shy and down to earth young lady. She was just 33. I'm so happy that more of her music is being released.
