That's how he wanted to be remembered, not for the (great!) movies he made. Thank you for posting it.

So often I hear of an entertainer's passing, yet so few of them do I feel a genuine sadness to see them leave this earth. Paul Newman leaves me feeling sad. He did so much more for people than just become a "look at me" celebrity.

dianne: lol! While hard to see Paul leave us, I must say. He lived a full life and he took risks at love, which is something many people run away from. His lesson to me is "You have to take your shot at life if you're going to live it". He epitomized really getting involved and helping so many children who were less fortunate. A wonderful man!

pbs: You've hit the nail on the head. This You Tube was well worth posting. It goes right to the heart of what made me admire Paul! When someone of his grace and generosity passes, it hurts our country and everyone in it who knows what loving really means. God Bless him!

Evening, Patti: Paul Newman came along at a time when Marlon Brando and James Dean were huge and Steve McQueen was gaining a foot hold. He was simply an extraordinary man. But look at what he left behind for the children at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. I am so proud to be associated with them and plan on visiting my friends there soon!

Carolyn: Very true, dear frend! The truly great actors I've been so privileged to meet as a broadcasting guy have been unassuming and generous. But none can match Paul nor his view on Giving to those who are not as blessed as we are. He was a Blessing for the children in New Haven, Connecticut and worldwide!

jean-luc picard: "Slap Stick" was said to be one of his favorites. He charcterized his charcter of alcoholic attorney Frank Galvin as "an open wound". It was that charcter's "Comeback" and redemption that has always drawn me to that drama, along with a superb cat in Jack Warden and Charlotte Rampling. "Nobody's Fool" was tender and "Winning" as DJ Davy b points out was Paul's passion--cars and racing! I could go for that!! We are heartened by so many condolences from friends "across the pond" who are special such as you!

Green Tea: He was a man of conviction for every cause he championed--most important of all, children with life threatening illness. This loss is tremendous, yes. lol!
