FAITHFUL...

Good Morning! I hope this short BLOG Post finds each of you Happy and filled with FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. Todd Rundgren has been one of my favorite rock artists and producers for years. He recorded a little known CD of covers called "faithful" and that title speaks well to those of you who follow my full Website and Blog.

Blogging is a fantastic tool for reaching people. And on August 18th, approximately 300 people stopped by this "conspicuously inconspicuous" Blogsite of mine. They were followed yesterday by nearly that same number. I have Faith that more will follow as time permits.-
The subject of children who are facing life-threatening illness is frightening to many people. At best, it draws people into what I call "Love In Action" and at it's worst, it causes others to turn their heads and look the other way. As a trained Crisis Intervention Counselor (in my Fieldwork Practicum) and a Lay Hospital Minister who earned a degree in Psychology, I am well acquainted with both of these responses and I accept them completely. Nevertheless, I make NO apologies whatsoever for writing the truth and stating the truth. You may ask: What is the truth? Well, in the Blogs I have been writing on this website since November, 2006 involving precious children facing brain stem cancer, I can tell you that there are those who must turn away. They are not bad people. Often, they simply don't know what to do or how to respond---they just don't---and I have to accept that because as the old saw goes, "it is what it is". The children I champion are teaching each of us who choose to listen what the ever-present reality of a Purpose-Filled Life is really all about. These children personify Courage, and what that word really means. It takes only one person reading this message right now to do something positive this morning, this afternoon or later this evening to help relieve the financial burden faced by the parents of the children I have been blogging about here. May that one person...be you!Michael

Yes faithful is one of the many things I would associate with you Michael!
i think you must be superman. i'm privileged to know you and to read about the important things in life- friday night movies, good music, famous people, and not-so-famous families with children that share so much love that it spills over into your blog.
that hit count is impressive mr manning! and you are very correct, hold that door, flash a smile at a stranger who looks unhappy. they may even frown back at you. perhaps later though, they will think of that smile. these kids have so much to teach us. thanks for the call out, but i should be thanking the superboy. not the other way around.
in the meanwhile, you are changing your part of the world. one internet hit at a time. you rock!

Another great post, Michael!
Evening, Patti: This was an unusual post and I thank you for your love.
Seraphine: How nice of you. No superman cape here. But I did smile at lunch today reading through Conde Nast about the company that makes Converse gym shoes and I thought about YOU! :D) lol!!!
ladidubin1: Sorry I am having trouble posting on your site. But warm thoughts are there and yes, these kids rock!!!
jean-luc-picard: I KNOW these children would really enjoy a tour of your space ship! :) Many Thanks!!!
As long as your hit count keeps going up the words is spreading.
Remember it's the silent majority that makes the difference.
You just keep calling out to the like a beacon.
Walker: I needed that, my friend. Positive validation. I am working on a fund raiser here locally for the two boys.
While the physicians carefully determine the best "next step", I just sincerely feel we need to get the financial burdens off the shoulders of dear Janna and Gus and Melinda and Todd. They have enough to face and don't need the additional drain of financial worries on their hearts and minds. Again, many thanks Walker!
It is hard to read about your posts because it's difficult for anyone to read about a child having to go through so much pain and heartache -- but without these posts, I think a lot of people don't even realize that there others out there that need help in some way. Too often, we take our own situations for granted.
Becky: I am glad you mentioned this because I am aware of the difficulty with this as a subject. But I feel compelled to help my friends. They have been turned away by so many, it is unimaginable. Perhaps we can collectively help in our own ways. For me what feels comfortable is becoming "involved" and doing whatever I can. And you are right, we take our good health for granted.
