ALISON KRAUSS & ROBERT PLANT TOUR!

My Blog was not working correctly over the past 24 hours. But whatever bug came in, obviously crawled back out and thing are back to normal.!
__
I find this interesting: On April 19th, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss opened a Spring tour that continues into Summer with the release of their CD "Raising Sand". Producer T. Bone Burnett, whom I last saw on the Roy Orbison video "A Black and White Night" (and featured on "Friday Movie Suggestion Night") is also playing guitar on this tour and I found this comment cool. "I haven't done this since Rolling Thunder (Bob Dylan's 1975-76 road revue with Joan Baez and friends). But I could not pass up a chance to work with two singers this good", he said. As the story goes, he went about choosing the Set List of Led Zeppelin songs that the duo both loved such as "When the Levee Breaks" and "Battle of Evermore". "That song has the same darkness you find in bluegrass, in the murder ballads. There is something in that darkness that Alison understands. She has that in her soul. She and Robert are both soul singers", said Burnett.

What concerts have you seen so far this summer, or intend to?

This is terrific-I love Alison Krauss and Tom and Ian are both Led Zeppelin fans (yes, Ian!).

Also Journey is in town-I didn't get tickets, but I am looking forward to catching a concert or two this summer.

I have a friend who just saw these two in concert and it was fantastic!

I have Brandi Carlile tickets for later this summer and I'm still working on scoring some James Taylor tickets too.

I wish they would come to the UK on tour. We are just buying tickets for an old-swing style concert in the grounds of a stately home where you can take a picnic. I think you would like it too.

Sounds like an interesting combo. I haven't been to a concert for nearly a year now. I was going to see Amy Winehouse but she cancelled her tur to go into rehab.

Snoopmurph: I knew that you and Tom "rocked". But Hey, IAN!!! :D) How fun! I missed a chance to see Journey myself. A good, solid band!

Fleur de Lisa: I've seen James Taylor twice now and both were outdoor concerts. You won't be disappointed. He puts on a great show! :)

Ellee: I have yet to see Alison with Union Station. But I would see these two. Quite unique combination!

bob-kat: Sounds like it is time to relax with a great concert!

jean-luc-picard: No concerts? This is serious, Captain. I better have a word with Ensign Britney.

Celti! WOW! Denny should be receiving my card today. He would not believe you stopped by here. (((HUGS)))!

Renae: My favorite of Alison's repertoire is "Ghosts In This House". She recorded her dual CD "Live" at the same Luisville, Kentucky Theater David M. Bailey played!

Sage: Yes, Robert Plant is a fine choice.

OMG how is Denny? Is he blogging again? I've been worried about him.

...and you've been one of the faithful few that still stops and checks up on me. :)

Celti: Go back several blogs where I provide an address for Denny to receive mail. He is not able to blog presently. I'll let you read the particulars. Please send him a card. I know he really valued you and his daughter will read it to him. lol!

Walker: I was among the in Dallas/Ft. Worth to report within minutes of Stevie's death that he died. I quickly re-wrote the report in long-hand (I detested "rip and read" AP reports) and broke into the music to report the news. After I returned to music, I cried. I remember that night vividly. That pilot had no business flying that helicopter in fog. A similar accident in Cincinnati killed pilot Dan Gould and TV reporter Nancy McCormick. After I arrived in that market to do helicopter news, my pilot and I had Veto power whether to fly or not. We were particularly cautious. God Bless Stevie Ray.
