THE ASPCA NEEDS YOU NOW!

I Ask You: Who would harm a defenseless animal?
Unfortunately it happens all too often.

Dog

Through enforcement and education efforts, your financial support will help us protect animals like Brutus from all types of cruelty.

By the time a neighbor called the ASPCA about Brutus, the dog was nearly dead. Empowered by law to investigate cases of cruelty and seize abused animals, ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement agents entered the backyard. Brutus was too weak to bark or even stand up. In the place of a collar was a 5 pound chain that was so tight it had embedded into his neck, resulting into a gaping wound nearly to the bone. He was so emaciated that you could count every single rib on his weak, dehydrated body.

Brutus's story is sadly not unique or unlike the multitude of others that the ASPCA team witnesses day in and day out, and it could have ended in tragedy.

Brutus' story had a good ending, THANKS TO EACH OF YOU! He now has a new lease on life. ASPCA's highly skilled veterinarians performed several major surgeries required to heal the tremendous damage inflicted on Brutus, and while he went through rehabilitation for his injuries, the ASPCA certified behaviorists spent time showering Brutus with the love, affection and socialization skills he had lived without for so many years. Today, Brutus is back to his handsome, happy self.

After years of abuse, Brutus' future looks bright -- filled with hope for love and affection from a new home, a testament to the power of second chances. Please take a moment and Click on my ASPCA Advertisement Logo listed on the Right hand margin as you scroll down my BLOG page!

Sincerely,

Michael

Some people don;t deserve to have pets.
Just think, if they are like this to an small animal, how would they treat people and small kids.

Brutus is a lucky dog

awww...poor Brutus! He should come to my house :)

I thought of you the other day when I watched "The Beguiled" with Clint Eastwood. Seems like you may have reviewed it one time?

I had a dog named Harvey that looked just like Brutus. This one hits home. Glad he was saved.

Kristy: And I shall add you to mine. Your site was very cool and I had a BLAST touring it last night! Thank You for adding me! :)

Walker: My own Mother says the EXACT same thing. We're on the same page, my friend!

jlee: I smiled big time that you thought of me with "Friday Movie Suggestion Night". No, we haven't done "The Beguiled". We did a couple of Westerns and "Bridges of Madison County". He's come a long way from directing William Holden in "Breezy"!

p m: This dog was so abused, Thank God there is a happy ending. I'd love to have a small dog. But I really have to think about it. An "expert" told me I'd have to keep the puppy in a non-carpeted place while I worked. Well, that leaves the kitchen. But I gave her the dimensions. She said it was large enough. I say it isn't. That's why I hesitate. This speaks highly of you that you saved a dog!!!!

sick! This angers me beyond words.

Kitty came from a kill shelter the day before she was to be euthanized because her previous owners were meth cookers who abandoned her when they were jailed/evicted.

I am a proud member of the ASPCA. They do wonderful work.

A most worthy charity. The RSPCA is the one here in Britain.

thanks so much for always putting the spotlight on worthy causes.

I have always had rescued pets and volunteer at a shelter. also - many shelters let you foster an animal. I know the North Shore Animal League does that. You get photos and updates, a great thing to do, especially for people who can't take in an animal.

You're the best Michael.

barngoddess: They certainly do and I love seeing and reading about Marvin, Freddie and of course, how could I leave out Scooter! :)!!

Snoopmurph: Me too! I love success stories and there are many!!!! :)

jean-luc-picard: Wow! I trust you've dropped by for the sheer thrill of visiting the dogs and cats as I do! It IS hard to leave, though.

dianne: Your warm compliments mean so much. And I agree with you about the special people in the world who are Foster Parents to dogs in transition to a nicer home to hopefully make new and positive memories!!!!

It looks like I am about to take in an elderly dachsund whose owner has lost her home and has nowhere for him to go. I am my local ASPCA :) but I wouldn't have it any other way!
A most worthwhile organization!

Patti: ASPCA is sadly gearing up for uninformed and misled people who were sold homes only to become forced to give up their pets. It's one thing for our government not to save Pan Am (but Chrysler and Lockheed) but foreclosures should be addressed NOW! Bless you for taking in this defenseless dog who did nothing wrong .

Maria: Some deranged person in Phoenix shot a bulldog puppy and the bullet severed his tongue. He will require surgeries and help. If "Dog the Bounty Hunter" returns, I hope he finds this punk.
