A MONDAY MORNING WITH JEWEL!
Jewel Kilcher_________
Having seen singer/songwriter Jewel in concert, I like her. When her book "a night without armor" was published I picked up a copy with some skepticism. But I was pleasantly surprised. Her subjects of the matters of heart are earthy and expressed nicely. Here is a brief quotation of a short poem. Tell me what you think. I like it, so here it is:
Collect Beads of Night
Collect beads of night
Fill your
skin with the dark weight of the
wet sky. Let boldness live in your heart
and I will recognize you
amongst the many
and claim you
as my own
skin with the dark weight of the
wet sky. Let boldness live in your heart
and I will recognize you
amongst the many
and claim you
as my own

I have never heard of her in the UK, but I must say Jewel is a wonderful name. I agree with the sentiment behind the verse too. Have a nice day Michael.
Thank You Michael, I wish one of my dreams at least would come true! A financial one :) I wish the same to you, my friend!
Ellee: Interesting success story of a folk singer choosing to "go for it" by living out of a VW van before a break materialized in a coffee house. She has toured England and is quite the rage here!
Morning, Patti: I can just see you on national television opening your front door in your P.J.'s with Maddie close behind when Ed McMahon and the Publisher's Clearinghouse ring your door bell! :D))
Jewel was just in town here this weekend. I didn't see her though.
I think we all need a little 'boldness in our hearts' more often. :-)
Here's wishing you a wonderful week too, Michael.
With a face like that, she doesn't need any talent so it's fantastic that she can sing so well... and write eloquently too. Quite impressive.
I like that poem, I'll have to check out her book.
I enjoy her music although she's been going a little too country for me most recently. I prefer her haunting songs more.
Saw her interviewed a few times, she's a delightful person.
I've heard of Jewel in the UK, but never heard her sing. If her voice is as good as her looks, she is really good.
Ah, you and I have pretty damn bold hearts, don't we Michael?
Lisa: I think you would have liked her in concert.
Utenzi: You speak for many, but she really is a talent! :)
dianne: True.
jean-luc-picard: She's quite good.
bud: Damn right, my friend! :)
I´m not a fan of Jewel..but I must admit she´s doing very well!
Maria: I'm a fan. I've also reasoned that we are "ships that passed in the night". She lived 90 miles from me in Texas. Couldn't she have had a flat tire and I could have come to her rescue? I have a very active imagination, Maria!:D
