THE IDEAL JOB? YOU BET!

Regis Philbin & Kelly Ripa

"Live with Regis & Kelly"

_______________________________

When I lived in the Southwest, I had my mornings to myself working split-shifts during afternoons and evenings in broadcasting. My buddies and I were just crazy about Kelly Ripa--"the new girl" hired to Co-Host with Regis Philbin on "Live with Regis & Kelly". (Truth be told, we still are). At the top of the show, Regis gets to hold Kelly's hand and walk out onto the set--half-comical, half serious like they're taking over the studio--but always relaxed. The audience is always wildly enthusiastic. Then there's the callers regarding the Carnival-style Prize Wheel that lowers from the ceiling. Those lucky few who receive a phone call presumably watch the show daily, yet it's funny how so many never seem to hear the question asked the first time. Regis and Kelly give themselves an annual "Relly Award", "because nobody else will". And above all, it's great to see Regis back from his by-pass surgery. That's my entire BLOG for Tuesday!

Kelly is stunning to look at, I can understand why she had so many admirers.

You know my view of TV but she is pretty damn cute.

ellee: Yes, she's very pretty and has humor!

Bud: ...and a fun, breezy personality. We had a local female radio jock (where I once lived) travel to NYC when try-outs were on and she was tested "Live" and suffice to say Gelman made the right choice!

Denny: It's too bad we didn't know each other then. We could have fought over her before she met Mark Consuelos. (I hope I spelled Mark's name right or I may find Mark at my door!) :)

Regis and Kelly are quite a team; they make fantastic chemistry. I enjoyed Kelly and Mark when they were on All My Children; occasionally they have the opportunity to be together on "Live with Regis & Kelly” what a delightful pair. I look forward to the show.

People seem to forget Kathy Lee and that this program ran for about five years as a local show in the smaller markets of TV before it was picked up as a national program.

For me the grind of doing a day to day show would be very hard.

I remember the days of Jack Benny when an entertainment show was only on once a week. Still in those days the grind to get out something good and that was entertaining each week was still very hard on the performers and the writers.

I think the Regis and Kelly team up is great but what makes the show great is because Kelly is really great!

Barbara Ann: A sweet girl!

Denny: As the late Dudley Moore says half-seriously in "10": "I feel......depraved".

Glenn: You must be right. Because early on when the late Steve McQueen was doing "Wanted Dead or Alive" he pulled his Agent aside and said "Jesus, I just can't take this grind anymore. I mean week in and week out. I want out".

Patti_Cake: I see them both as nice, just very different people.
