Chad McQueen, Steves son: "You know, I never--ever, when he was sick saw him go 'Woe is me. Why me?' But you know, I feel blessed that I got to spend more time than most anybody, I think with him. Listen, he lived a full hundred years in 50 years. And he left a mark. He's been gone now--- 25 years and his legend still lives".

Barbara Minty-McQueen, Steve's wife: "For me, the whole four years was just the most beautiful learning experience. And it was a gift. He was a great teacher and a beautiful man. And I loved him very much"
