WE'RE OFF TO A GREAT START! (MONDAY UPDATE)!

Here is Sahara on a recent radio show:
_______________
Welcome to my Blog Page! Some of you are stopping by here for the very first time. So, I would like you to take a moment and meet the precious little girl pictured above. Her name is Sahara Aldridge. She lives in Missouri and loves "basketball, cats, shopping, cheesecake and music". I ask you. Who among us would not love to have such a precious girl for a daughter? While Amy and Shannon, Sahara's Mom and Dad are blessed, they are also in need of our supportiveness. Here's why. Sahara is fighting a Stage 4 malignant glioblastoma in her brainstem. She is being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Like Sahara, I too am a Rick Springfield fan. His shows are what Rock and Roll is supposed to sound like. I wanted to do something on a "grass roots level" and if you want to join me here's how we can support Sahara, and her family by attending The Benefit Concert for Sahara Aldridge in style!
_____
First: Get Your December 8th Concert Tickets ASAP by Telephoning Ticketmaster Outlets to Charge-By-Phone at (573) 651-5000. Ticket prices are $25 and $35. The concert will be held at The Show Me Center at S.E. Missouri State University, 1333 N. Sprigg Street, Cape Girardeau. MO. 63701-6999.
_____
Second: The Official Hotel for the concert is the DRURY LODGE in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. I've arranged for the hotel to hold 30 Rooms with two Full Size beds and 20 Rooms with King Size beds for ticket purchasers at a reduced rate of $69.00 plus tax for December 7th--one day before the concert. All rooms include full breakfast buffet the morning of the show! To receive this rate, the ticket buyer needs to access this website:www.druryhotels.com. Click On: "Book It Fast", then enter Code # 262455 and proceed to book your room. Now the FUN part!
_____
Third: If you live in or near Cincinnati, I have reserved a Luxury Tour Bus with 55 seats, DVD/CD and TV screens, a restroom and plenty of leg room. There is no charge for the bus, however, I require FIRM COMMITMENTS from 55 people As Soon As Possible. We will be leaving from the newly renovated Fountain Square in the center of downtown Cincinnati on December 7th at 9:00 a.m. for the 7-hour bus ride to Cape Girardeau. By "Firm Commitments", that means you MUST have purchased a Concert Ticket and booked your own Hotel Room online at the DRURY LODGE. Then E-mail me with your Confirmation Numbers so I can coordinate the transportation. Once the seats are taken up, we will make a "State of the Heart" demonstration of our supportiveness to Sahara and her family with our presence. Here again is my E-mail: michaelmanninginfo@GMail.com. Leave your name, daytime and night time telephone numbers (with Area Codes) and include your ticket and hotel Confirmation Numbers. I will contact each one of you personally and we will get you on a list.
_____
This is a "once in a lifetime" event to make a demonstrable difference in the life of a little girl who deserves to be on this planet. She is unmistakably but one example of what is "right" about this world and I can't imagine a better experience! I sincerely look forward to meeting each of you before the show on December 7th at the hotel. The following day (day of show) Mayor Mark Mallory will proclaim December 8th as "Sahara Aldridge Day" in Cincinnati, Ohio! I'll be presenting Sahara and her family with the Proclamation. Together, we can do this!
_____
My good friend in Sarasota, Florida--Radio and TV personality Doug Miles with WIBQ Sunny 1220 "News/Talk" Radio will have me as a Guest this week. We are taping our radio interview tomorrow morning. It will run 3 days. That's because there is a large Cincinnati and Toledo, Ohio contingent living in Sarasota. Meanwhile, I pledge to keep all of you fully informed as we move forward this week with the project!

Wow, that is some 'grassroots' campaign! Good luck with it, I do wish I could go...I was a big Rick fan when I was in high school.

Good luck!

Angela Marie: Thanks for the thumbs-up! And I hope you'll consider stopping by Sahara's site to say "Hello" to her! That site is listed on the right hand margin of my blogroll under "Sahara Aldridge". lol!!!

Oh my, I just read about Sahara's treatment on her site. Wow, what a strong young lady. I'm praying all goes well for her in the next few weeks. I think she may be upset if she missed the concert. Happy Day to ya.

Renae: Yes. Now I think you can see why this is such a critical project on a number of levels and why people who truly are local enough and able to respond must come forward. This is a "Time Sensitive" project and the bus ride is FREE. To place this project in perspective, The Rolling Stones single concert tickets sell from $169-$300 (US). We are talking about a package here involving a Rock "Legend" in Rick Springfield and tickets at $25 and $35! This is very, very affordable. The Hotel rooms are awesome and breakfast is included at $69 plus tax. THe last time I was in New York, you couldn't get a Holiday Inn below $150.00. This is a mind-blower for all the positive reasons! And we are in a race against time because this concert will sell out. If anyone is remotely serious "Now is the Hour". I will have a stand by list because once the media coverage begins, I fully expect the bus to be filled. We need action! FYI: In the Springfield DVD a group of fans hold up a sign that reads "We Drove 2,000 miles to be here". lol!

The WIBQ 1220 AM Sarasota, Florida interview will be taped tomorrow morning for 3 re-broadcasts to a market of 1 million listeners from lower Tampa to Venice, Florida. I am exploring Media Contacts now in Missouri. We're making progress. Over the weekend I handed out cards with my Blogsite and spoke to people out and about on the town one-on-one. It's happening!

lol!

Michael, who knew signing a lease for a tour bus could give me such wonderful chills? Well...it does. Do keep us posted. Let us know if the interviews are on streams or anything so we can be sure to put the word out even more (at least in Rickdom and Jason Thompsondom.) :-)

WONDERFUL! This kinda thing just rocks my soul to the core, in a great way.

id it is: So Grateful for your support. I need it. Thank you!

Ally: Me too! Al Topping (from "THE INTERVIEW") said he caught my second appearance (this is my 4th) on WIBQ via streaming. The station has moved to larger digs. So, do try to catch it. The show will also be taped. It will run 3 times this week including over the weekend. This is just the beginning! I'm cautiously optimistic but DRIVEN! This will be Sahara's night on December 8th. That's the main point. lol!!!!
