THE BUS: DAY 1 FROM THE FIELD!
AUTHORS NOTE: THIS BLOG POST WAS WRITTEN JUST ONE-DAY BEFORE WE ACQUIRED A BUS THAT I HAVE DECIDED TO DUB "THE SAHARA EXPRESS" TO ACCENTUATE THE POINT THAT SAHARA IS WINNING AND WILL ULTIMATELY TRIUMPH AND KICK CANCER IN THE BUTT. IN JUST THE PAST 24 HOURS (AS YOU WILL READ IN THE BLOG POST ABOVE THIS ONE, WE RECEIVED ADDITIONAL COMMITMENTS. THE CINCINNATI COMMUNITY IS COMING TOGETHER TO SHOW SAHARA, AMY, AND SHANNON THAT LOVE AND COMPASSION TRANSCENDS MERE STATE LINES. PLEASE JOIN US ALL! WE NEED YOU AND WE WANT YOU! :) ____________
Yesterday (Monday, November 6th) began with a very productive meeting at the Office of Mark Mallory, our new Mayor in Cincinnati. My next stop was Television stations.
_____
A lovely lady who had spent many years as a Nurse and understood Sahara Aldridges' current medical challenge was the Television Station Receptionist. And she thoughtfully read over my BLOG. After about 20 minutes of great conversation, she telephoned an Assistant News Director! He was in a meeting, so that gave me more time to listen to this amazing woman speak about health matters. When the Assistant News Editor appeared in the Lobby, he couldn't have been nicer or more patient. As he read the print out of my BLOG, I did my best to persuade--from the heart--what a wonderful opportunity we have to support the Concert Benefit for Sahara Aldridge. We agreed tentatively for an on-camera interview.
_____
"If you or someone you love has Cancer--we want you; If you have a daughter Sahara's age who is healthy and feel thankful for that, we want you; if you want to help raise Cancer awareness, we want you; if you are a Cancer patient in remission and you want to be there to lend support to Sahara, Amy, and Shannon we want you to attend this incredible event. Join us on the bus and "Be the Difference that Makes the Difference!" A bus filled with good, caring people to attend the show in Missouri will be a wonderful way to communicate caring.

Good Day, sounds like you had an AWESOME day! Way to go Michael! Isn't it wonderful how everything just falls into place. You met all the right people at the right time and place with more good things to come! Way to Go!! Have a great day.
this is completely off topic, but do your capital letters at the beginning of each paragraph form an acronym of some type? and, you're just such a caring individual!! can't believe it almost. nice bus!
to be honest the first time i knew about rick springfield is when i watched the movie "13 going 30", starring jennifer garner. your blog is very nice. this is actually the first blog i've ever seen with so many links on it...thanks for adding me.
Way to go Michael! Some fantastic progress made there! And hey, if you want to hear the sweetie's voice herself, be sure to check this out here:

She truly IS the voice of an angel! And she knows her sports! Thanks to fellow RS fan Paul for letting us all share in her wonderfulness. :-)

Rene': lol! But I want to be very clear to ALL: This is NOT a done deal. And the clock is running. This concert will be "Sold Out". Yes, we are off to a good start. But today is "BUS DAY" and we need a Bus. Prayers, thoughts, good vibes and every good wish is so welcomed (and needed). I know we can all do this here together!
Sisiebadoozie: Not a problem. The reason I do that Suzie has everything to do with working within the limits of Blogger. To separate a Paragraph and signal a new one to the reader and to the technology, I do this. It just makes for an easier presentation. Thanks for the LUV!!!
Cecile: Good Morning! It's really great to have you and I'll stop by once things slow down a bit. We are really against the clock on this project but I remain cautiously optimistic the community will pull together for Sahara. lol!
Ally: I can't wait to check this out. lol to you!!!! It's vback to the phones now and to the e-mails then the road to make some visits. lol!!!!
Michael ~ I want to thank you for stopping by the Damp Dog the other day and adding us to your roll.
What a worthy endeavor you have undertaken - sounds like it was a very productive day! ~S~
3:20 PM Eastern Time: MAYOR MARK MALLORY IS DECLARING DECEMBER 8TH "SAHARA ALDRIDGE DAY" IN CINCINNATI. Keep the prayers pouring in! We still need the Bus and we have some very progressive, compassionate people working on that!

Bossy: So nice to see you here and your support means so much. Thanks for the good word. You Rock!
Hey, MISS COW!!! SFO has some great areas. Of course I'd be there with the local "Bullitt" movie fan club armed with a Map and walking parts of the chase route. The building that served as Steve McQueen's apartment looks the same; the owner just made the lower part into a garage I think. Have some fun!!! lol!
d-man: That comes from great Blog Buds like you D-Man. Thanks for inspiring. :)
Lisa B: Today is of course key and we're still working against the clock to get things done. I can tell you that I have met some very generous people who are truly working behind the scenes to become involved. We need them. This is not "My" project. It is all of ours here who have our arms wrapped around this cause and to great Blog Buds like you who really have a heart! lol Lisa B!
AWESOME news about December 8th being "Sahara Aldridge Day" in Cincinnati!!!!
Can we get that as a national holiday? Oh wait, I already do have that one off. *wink*
Ally (who remembers when it was Rick Springfield Day on the Alive and Kicking tape from the early 1980s..LOL)
Ally: Look at the post above this one!
sound like so much fun, wish we could all be there for her
