DANA REEVE AND A WISH!
__________
Out of the unimaginable heartbreak of last week comes the hopeful news now that that Dana and Chris' son, Will, is going to be cared for by the Reeve's best friend, actor Robin Williams. The Reeve's desire to "Go Forward" with Christopher Reeve Foundation for Paralysis Research continues here:

I'm so glad you posted! Coffeehusband and I were just talking about this the day before yesterday... wondering who was going to raise their son.
Since I like Robin Williams a lot I guess I won't worry about it anymore. LOL.
I wondered if that would happen, (I knew they were dear friends.)
How very lovely.
Aka Meritt: Robin is obviously a wonderful human being whom I understand quietly helped the Reeve's. I have a nice story coming in Thursday's post that will tickle the funny bone and warm the heart about the movie I've chosen to celebrate Chris, Dana and Robin alike! Talk to you more after I get off the road Meritt. lol!
LisaBinDaCity: You've really "hit the nail on the head". 13 is such a transitional age. While our hearts ache for this young man, what better company than Robin and his wife. Very loving and it speaks volumes about what a decent man he is. I've always been a fan. Have you worked with him?
All: I've managed to lose my reading glasses. I'll check the Cracker Barrel near my hotel here on the road. Great, great people here in Atlanta! So if I misspell anything, it's all because I lost my cool blue tubular case with my glasses. A bartender and I compared our Versace wallets. We both shared what we paid and couldn't tell the difference. How funny. At least I'll be "cool" however long this one lasts! He was dismayed by his price! Funny!!
Great to hear this wonderful news. How fun would that be to have Robin Williams in da house? LOL? Exhausting, I think!
That's beautiful And can you imagine having Robin Williams as a father?
I was hoping that's where he'd end up. What a tragedy for such a young boy.
I hadn't heard that but that would be wonderful.
Keri: Exhausting but Fun, Funny and Loving, I'm sure. lol to you too!
Bud: Exactly! I have a fan of this brilliant man forever. He is so versatile with Drama and Comedy and never tears anyone down. He will be able to build Will up. Something we all need! Have a great day and hope the gigs are fantastic!
SQ: I was thinking of you yesterday as you Deni, Bud and Golfwidow were among my very Bloggers. This seems the best of all possible outcomes. And what better persons than the William's to work through this with? lol SQ! Talk more after I get off the road.
Defiant Goddess: Yes, it's wonderful and true! Last night I was reflecting on how foolish I am to miss my father compared to this young man who had them only 13 years. Tragic, but the outcome is merciful for him being in good hands. lol and have a great day!
That is good news! But I was wondering... didn't the Reeves have any blood family that would take in their son? Just wondering..
I so feel for that little guy.
Robin Williams? that would be awesome! I still can't believe that poor family's luck.
Carolyn: I don't know. But in the newsroom, we always heard that Robin helped generously with bills none of us can begin to imagine for round-the-clock specialized care etc. He was quiet about it. Class.
Teresa: Oh, absolutely. I ache for him. The upside thatI focus on is that he is in a very safe environment with two loving friends who will provide for him as he works through all of this. Thank God Robin has the resources to really make sure he gets the best of help and has love around him. But nothing will replace his Mom and Dad. Nothing.
Webmiztris: Mind blowing! It really is. A young father, Grandmother (Dana's mother) and now his own Mother. At least I was an adult when I lost my father and we had plenty of time "with no stone left unturned". I know friends my age who lost both parents and didn't get to say what they needed to and it becomes an "open sore". lol Birthday girl!
That's good to know. I was wondering what was going to happen to their son when I heard that Dana passed on. Such devastation for such a young man.
I'm happy that he will be with someone as great as Robin Williams. He is in real life as he portrays himself in his movies. A funny man that can make anyone smile and laugh.
Tutu: I agree with you totally. He was extraordinary in "Good Will Hunting". In a set of circumstances best described as a "mixed bag" (without diminishing Will's loss) as sure as I'm sitting here (in Mid-Town Atlanta)I really cannot think of a better situation for Will than Robin and his wife. Robin is quite obviously a man of great love and courage. lol to you Tutu and Aloha!
I am so glad the pic is up!
LOL
I told you how her quote inspired me.
So sad.
It's truly a sad thing about the Reeves. And they did so much to make a difference in a lot of people's lives.
I had only heard that Dana Reeves had arranged her son to stay with friends but I hadn't known about Robin Williams. That's so wonderful. And such a sad story...
I'm so glad. My heart broke for that little man.
Tricia: Great to meet you and hubby and take in some Rolling Stones covers! I am not having much luck Uploading the next blog photo, but that's how it goes. Off for another city in the morning from Miami! Take care and lol!
Groovebunny: No matter how optimistic we are, there's no getting around the sadness. I hope my Thursday Movie Suggestion helps a bit. And yes, you are so right! They madea difference and shall be missed. lol!
Heather: Well, my friend. It is the best of all possible outcomes and I guess we all have to count our blessings. This young man will have it tough. But I believe Robin and his wife did a loving thing by stepping up to the plate to care for him.
Kari: lol! Mine did too!
Good to know that the child will be staying with Robin & wife (a filipina?). I also read somewhere that Will is a very responsible kid, emotionally mature and very well mannered. Rest in peace, Dana and Chris. Btw, thanks for the book suggestion Michael, will try to search for a copy of it.
happy weekend!
Asian Smiles: I couldn't have said it better. lol, dear!
