WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND TODAY?

Ever the promoter, of course I'm back to bug (Ahem!) ...remind you that THE GETAWAY and PAPILLON (left) are the choices in our second to last week of the "Virtual Film Festival". Next week will be very special and I'm SO excited about it! Thursday February 9th, I'll post our FINAL two Steve McQueen selections. And then a very special post of Steve's thoughts recorded on audio tape during his final days which are heartwarming. I'll post these on February 12th & 13th.
Let me give you 2 hints about the FINAL FILMS! (1.) Actress Linda Evans recently mentioned one of them on "Larry King Live". Oh, C'mon! Everybody watches Larry King, right? (2.) According to Neille Adams-Toffler (Steve's first wife) the audiences in theaters nation-wide here in the USA cheered wildly when Steve came on-screen. So yes. We are going out big next week. How big?
Really BIG!

Today, I want to "throw open the kimono" and ask you to share anything that is on your mind. The floor is yours...

hooray! LOVE that poster! I was practically being held captive the first time I watched Papillon. I was in high school and quite sick. I was in our family room, and pretty much passed out on our couch. My dad, also home ill, was feeling a bit better and wanted to get out of bed and watch a movie. He appeared in the family room, announced that he was taking over the remote control (as dads can do!)... and that was that. I don't remember if he found Papillon while channel surfing or if he popped in a video. But I do know I was miserable and could hardly move, so what was else was I to do but lay there and watch the movie! And I LOVED it. (of course I didn't admit that to my dad until years later.. lol)

So, you're throwing open the kimono huh? You may want to rethink that line a bit.

But since you invited us to talk about anything today, I accept that challenge. For a long time now I wanted to openly discuss the migration patterns of people during the civil war. Caught between moving the family and kids north and the folks up north wanting sunshine and shuffling off their parents to Florida... well, who will open up the floor?

LOL Denny... I think you covered it... lol... Speaking of "covered", please close that kimono! (me thinks Michael might want to chose his words more carefull around Denny... LOL)

Lisa: How funny! "I'm taking over the remote control". Ah, if life were only that way, eh? Glad you appreciate Steve McQueen. lol to you!

Denny: I "borroed" that phrase from former Southwest Airlines and Braniff International CEO Howard Putnam. I read his business book and phoned him at his office in California and he said, "Let's have breakfast when I come to Texas"--which we did and we talked about that phrase. It encouraged employees to use the "Open Door Policy" if they had any problems so they could be solved quickly.

Lisa: (smiles) I love Denny's wit and comedic sensibilities but don't worry. I'm watchin' him! Any day now I expect a Wedding Invitation to arrive after he proposes to Kelly Monaco. Never underestimate Denny. Very persuasive.

Denny: I can just hear Actor/Comedian Jackie Chan: "Oh, that Denny Shane! Always thinking sex, sex, sex!"

Wondy Woman: YAY! Glad to hear from you, my friend. I'll be by for a visit!!!lol!

My favorite Steve McQueen film is "LeMans" . Just the thought of making a film when actually driving a GT car in a real race,"amazing"!

Wallycrawler: Stay tuned. More info on LeMan's this upcoming week: Our Final Week of the "Virtual Film Festival". Steve was an original, no doubt. And from what Peter Revson and others said, he was a very fast, aile driver. You do know he drove that car with a broken foot in a cast!
