SUNDAY QUOTES FROM STEVE MCQUEEN!
_____
- "When I believe in something, I fight like hell for it".
- "I don't know why it (stardom) happened--but it's kinda nice. Maybe it's because I'm someone off the streets. Maybe people relate to me".
- "I worked hard, and if you work hard you get the goodies".
- "If I hadn't made it as an actor, I might have wound up a hood".
- "I don't believe in that phony hero stuff".
- "I'm out of the Midwest. It was a good place to come from. It gives you a sense of right or wrong and fairness, which is lacking in our society".
- "Acting's a good racket. And lets face it, you can't beat it for the bread".
- "I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on Earth".
- "I'll be walking down the street and some guy spots me and flips out. You can see it happen. He goes temporarily crazy just from looking at me. I know what's going through his head: He's got to make his move. He's got to do it because there's a movie star right in front of him and it may be the only chance in his whole life. After a while, they all turn out to be the same person: some guy flipping out, trying to get to you, trying to eat you, man, because he just can't let you get away!"

As far as midwesterners and their lights... they just wait for valentine's day and change the bulbs to red... lol
I like those quotes!
Steve did have an interesting way of looking at things
Denny: Yes! I thought about having Martha Stewart sends a crew to one front lawn to take down the tree lights and re-shape them into a heart! Imagine!!
PBS: Oh, there are more on the way and they are fascinating (like you)!!
Bud: After the festival it will interesting to post his final thoughts about his life, taking chances, all the women and the perspective he arrived at. Gives me a great deal of Respect for his journey. Meanwhile, buckle your seat belts! I'm getting audio to transcribe today, since legally I can't post it and wouldn't know how anyway!
Yeah for the midwest quote!!
Teresa: If I get you a house number and street I'll e-mail it to you. It was a tiny place. Beech Grove, Indiana.
On that last quote, I guess that would be weird to have people reacting to you like that all the time. When I ran into Liv Tyler in NYC last fall and asked for directions, I debated on whether to acknowledge who she was, but then I just wanted to let her keep walking her dog like a normal person.
Denny just wears his heart on his sleeve... now he wants it hanging from trees too???
Michael, please!
Don't encourage him!
The next thing you know they'll start commercializing valentines day.
Oooops.
Did I really say that?
I think tomorrow I'll walk into the office and tell everyone that I'm feeling a little 'Steve McQueen' today. I bet they all run for the hills!
Have a lovely evening MM.
I'll see you tomorrow.
Becky: I was lucky. In 1990 I met Steven Spielberg, Elton John and actor Richard Dreyfuss in one night at a fund raiser--each for 3 minutes. I told Steven Spielberg we had one thing in common--Cincinnati (he lived here many years ago). And we chatted about different parts of town. With Elton John, he told me that he atends so many events that he had developed an eye for the ones that were well organized and the ones that were not. (Fortunately ours was a good one). With Richard Dreyfuss, we cracked up and decided quickly that we shared a silly sense of humor. All fine people. I think you did the Clasy thing, given the environment. People are just people.
Tricia: Denny has a great sense of humor. So, I've decided to encourage this--one of many talents. And can he pick the music of the day or what? Thanks for the Photo help. I'll try it by tomorrow and get back to you. Speaking of Steve McQueen, wait until you read Thursday's Guest on my FMSN BLOG! lol!
