MY RESPECTS
As a writer, I draw from the heart. All day Sunday and now Monday--the beginning of a new week-- Rosa Parks has become the first woman in the history of this great country of ours to lay in State in the Capitol Rotunda Washington, D. C. This post is not meant to make anyone sad, although our hearts are heavy. Rosa Parks was a woman of Faith. She was practical, she lived a long life. I smile and think, 'I hope and pray we each live to 92'. Rosa Parks will continue to inspire each of us, regardless of background or ethnicity to reach higher and farther in our pursuits, to slow down and realize the value each of us has to be kinder and to embrace peace and Justice as the family of mankind. So it is out of Respect that I'll let my Sunday blog stand in for me today. As my late father used to say: "We mourn". This is as far as I can go today. I just want to reflect and Respect in my own way.
Tonight, the kids will be ringing the doorbell in Halloween costumes and I have bags of Reece Cups to hand out. I look forward to that each year--this too is part of Life!

Have a Happy Halloween Michael.
She was an amazing person ! A very strong part of what changed history
Christa: Thanks. I'll be by for a visit!
green-eyed lady: lol! What a nice message! Each year the candy gets smaller. So, I loaded up on Reece Cups. It looks better when you're a kid and you get home and dump your collection on the kitchen table than mints that are the size of a quarter!
Asian Smiles: Thank you. You have a beautiful day as well!
Pink Lady: Enjoy your day!
Funky Cowboy: It's always cool when you stop by! Actress Cicely Tyson said that even in death you still see that strength in her face. Thank God she took a stand. A life well lived and so humble!! Now we must all go further!
Enjoy handing out the treats. Reese's are my favorite.
Teresa: If I see any adults dressed up trying to trick me I'll know you're outside! (laugh) The teenagers crack me up. They usually come along late in the night. Unless they're 13 and 6' tall, it's funny. I just go-along with it. You never know?
Halloween is magical...a time when small people wrestle with their nightmares of goblins and such only to emerge from the night of darkness in triumph with handfuls of delicious booty. I love the rustling sound of the leaves, cast about by the feet of running and excited children and the laughter carried on the nightbreeze from their exuberant little spirits. I love the leftover candy... ~;^)
foxymama: My favorites were DOTS! lol!!
Happy Halloween Michael! I have so many fond memories of Halloween. I enjoy seeing those little ghosts and goblins come to my door holding out their bags, waiting with anticipation to see what treasure is going to be dropped in! I buy a huge assortment of candies, something for everyone, besides we get to munch on the leftovers! :) Enjoy your evening!
she was a very inspirational woman and you have written some very nice words in honor of her.

PB cups for Halloween? Can I trick or treat at your house!
Yellowrose: Check out my Post-Halloween Report!
Lorena: Yeah, they are great aren't they?
Mulligan: We should buy some stock in Reece cups, yes?
PBS: Sure, just be sure and call first so I ca make a trip to the candy store for a HUGE Reece Cup for you!
I changed my lesson plans last week after Rosa died. I have a terrific video about her life and accomplishments that we watched. Then we wrote about why she was a hero and what characteristics she had that made her a hero. The kids really learned a lot about a wonderful lady and role model.
Bridget: Thanks for sharing! :)
